Barbaresco Rio Sordo Docg 2017

Region:
Grape Variety:
100% Nebbiolo
Tasting Note:
It comes from Nebbiolo grapes grown in the Municipality of Barbaresco, in the Rio Sordo valley, from vineyards facing south-west. In the vineyard the maximum respect for the environment is in force. After the harvest, the first week of October, the pomace remains in contact with the must for 3 weeks, kept in immersion by means of comebacks throughout the alcoholic fermentation period. Subsequently the malolactic fermentation takes place in the cellar at a temperature of 20 ° C in traditional Slavonian oak barrels of 10-17 hl for 22 months. Filtration and clarification are not provided. Bright and transparent garnet red. It enjoys extreme finesse and cleanliness to the nose: clean and clear dark fruits, sweet spices, Mediterranean scrub and much undergrowth. The tannin is tenacious, the mouth is complex and articulated with excellent structure and depth, it is elegant and austere. Long final persistence.
